Question of the Century: Who is your favorite superhero and why?

Answer: Booster Gold.

Booster Gold is the hero no one knows about. He's more like you and me than most other DC Universe stars because Booster arms himself with tools he believes will help him achieve his own version of greatness, however, he's flawed just like everyone else; seeking the approval of others and in many cases, going about it the wrong way. Booster is a formidable hero and saves the world on many occasions and wants to be recognized for his successes. 

Sounds oddly similar to the lives of many IT workers?

1.  What’s someone you admire, and why?   

Richard Branson -  His view of the world is different than ours, however, we can definitely take some lessons from him. Consider something he said: "Every success story is a tale of constant adaption, revision and change."  

2.  Tell me three pet peeves.  

It really irks me when people leave tea bags in their coffee mugs and don't put them away! Gross! 

Hmm... I'm not particularly fond of too much perfume or cologne.

Oh and kids yelling on planes. You just can't get away.  

3.      What’s a typical day like for you? 

A typical day includes an omelet breakfast, emails, more emails, studying new IT skills, hopefully roller-blading, or getting some Planet Fitness time in and a small dinner.  

4.      Do you have any skills that most people don’t know about?

 Yes, most people don't know me yet! The ones that do, probably know that I have played and will play every sport and I am a huge board games and card games fan, as well as an accomplished cook. They might also know I have a green thumb.  

5.      If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?

Mars. Obviously.

6.      Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I wanted to be an architect and build skyscrapers. As Ted Mosby would say from "How I Met your Mother", I wanted to paint the Seattle skyline with my architectural brush. Little did I know that career includes heights.  

7.      If we went to happy hour, what would you order? 

I would probably order whatever looks like the best value. Or a Moscow Mule.  

8.      Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me... 

Sleeping? Wait, is it 11am already? Welp, I guess it's time for omelets.

9.      What’s a goal you have for yourself that you want to accomplish in the next five years? 

My plan is to get a B.S. degree in Information Technology, then apply for an MBA of Information Technology Management at UW. Its going to be a crunch. Likely won't be sleeping on Sunday mornings.

10.  What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job? 

Inquisitiveness, persistence, and a good sense of humor.

We all know how the Cloud has disrupted the traditional model of IT. 

What comes next? 

Is it Project T288? 

What about blockchain? 

How about robots?

Maybe it's bionics?

Hmm. Have you seen those (legit) jetpacks?

Beefless... beef? (Bill Gates thinks so!)

When I think about the future, I still think about the Cloud and its unlimited potential to increase productivity, lower costs, and collaborate in smarter and faster ways. In fact, the cloud empowers the ingenuity to create all of the amazing things above.

That's why I love Microsoft products.

That's why I also think of the Power of Now.
